HIAWASSEE - Towns County High School's Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) club has been awarded an Excellence in Education grant from Blood Assurance.

The club will use the $1,500 to pay for travel expenses incurred by club students who attend the National HOSA Leadership and Skills Conference in June.

HOSA allows students to compete in over 50 different health care related fields, such as medical terminology and medical assisting. HOSA club members are our future health professionals.

Blood Assurance is a non-profit regional blood center responsible for supplying blood and blood components to 75 healthcare facilities in 51 counties in the region, including Chatuge Regional Hospital in Towns County.
