GAINESVILLE - The final "concrete pours" are scheduled starting Wednesday for the new bridge on Clarks Bridge Road.

The work will tie together the pieces of the new bridge which is under construction near the Lake Lanier Olympic Center.

"The new bridge...has seven spans. The contractor plans to pour the last two spans this week. If weather cooperates, one pour will happen tomorrow (Wednesday) and the last pour is planned for Friday. Both days, the northbound lane will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. as the concrete pour occurs" explained Harold Mull, Georgia DOT District Construction Engineer.

This $8.7 million project is scheduled for completion by the end of the year.
