Gwinnett County police said arrived at a home on LeGrand Circle in the Villages at Huntcrest community in Lawrenceville just after 10:30 p.m. after a woman called 911 and reported shooting inside the house.
Officer Jeffery Richter said officers found a woman now identified as 61-year-old Janie Drummond, with a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police also found 66-year-old Richard Drummond dead inside the home. His body has been taken to the medical examiner's office to determine the manner and cause of death.
Police said there was no call history at the address for the Gwinnett County Police Department.
The investigation continues.
