PEACHTREE CITY - The National Weather Service (NWS) is warning motorists to be on the lookout for black ice across parts of north Georgia - including the Gainesville area - the rest of today and overnight. And, the agency has issued an update on snow totals for the state.

Forecasters say the best bet for black ice issues is along and north of a line from near LaGrange to Atlanta to Athens to Toccoa.

Meanwhile, the storm that moved through yesterday and overnight left behind snow depths of from around one inch in Gainesville to close to 9 inches in Trenton: Gainesville 0.9 inches; Trenton 8.9 inches; Dalton 6.8; Blairsville 7.1; Dahlonega 4.6 (with one report of 6.2 inches); Rome 5.2; Canton 3.4; Ringgold 8; and Adairsville 7.
