GAINESVILLE - The Hall County Library System is formally requesting an end to the furlough days that began several years ago during the recession.

That is one of the things contained in the system's budget request which was prepared by the Executive Committee Tuesday night. It is to be presented to the county administrator next Friday.

Library Director Adrian Mixson said in addition to requesting that ten furlough days be eliminated, the budget also requests money for an expected increase in insurance premiums.

The committee again discussed a possible $86,049 cut in funding from the state, with that money being reallocated to other libraries, mostly in rural Georgia.

The budget proposal totals $1.93 million, about $200,000 more than this year's.
