DAHLONEGA -- The No. 10 University of North Georgia softball team was simply dominant in its doubleheader sweep of Union (Ky.), taking down the Bulldogs by scores of 11-0 and 18-0, each in five innings. The Nighthawks out hit Union a combined 25-to-7 in the twin bill.

UNG is now 9-3 on the year.

Game One
North Georgia didn't waste anytime getting on the board, pushing across four runs in the bottom of the first including a two-run blast over the left field wall by Alexis Collis. It was Collis' first home run as a Nighthawk.

After a Kim McMillan two-run homer in the second and a Taylor Anne Merritt RBI single in the third, UNG tacked on an addition four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take the 11-0 advantage that proved final.

Courtney Poole (5-1) picked up the win in the circle for the Nighthawks, striking out nine and only allowing four hits in the 5.0 innings pitched.

Game Two
The bats remained relatively quiet in comparison to the first game in the two opening innings, however the Nighthawk offense exploded in the third inning, scoring 13 runs on seven hits. The monster inning came with only one extra base hit, a three-run double to left center by Tiffanie Burns.

UNG tacked on two more runs in the fourth to take the final lead, 18-0.

Ally LeGette (1-2) picked up her first career win striking out three and allowing only three hits in her 4.0 innings pitched.
