Schools have been closed since the ice storm struck Monday night.
"Our county government, the Hall County School District, Jackson EMC, Georgia Power and GEMA teamed up today to almost completely clear Hall County roads of fallen debris and repair (downed) power lines," Schofield said Thursday night.
"Our schools all have power and are heated to normal operating temperatures. Computer networks are up and operational, and cafeterias are fully prepared. Our transportation department ran our bus routes (Thursday), started our buses, and will have our drivers and mechanics up and preparing at 5 a.m."
Regarding the potential for additional snow and ice, Schofield noted "even the most aggressive forecasting models do not show any meaningful precipitation reaching Hall County until Friday evening. Therefore, unless we see dramatic changes over the next eight hours, we are prepared for a normal school day (Friday)."
