Rabun Co. woman, Jefferson group recognized by travel group

CLEVELAND - At a recent meeting of the members of the Northeast Georgia Mountains Travel Association, Top of The Mountain Awards were presented to Gayle Darugh, Beechwood Inn in Clayton for outstanding service and the Jackson County Heritage Geocache Trail for a creative outstanding tourism product development.
Darugh was recognized as a big proponent for the Farm to Table movement in the Rabun County and Northeast Georgia Mountains region. She and her husband, Dave have caught national attention by being named Best Chefs America two years straight as well as being advocates of other deserving chefs in the community and region. Gayle was heavily involved in getting Rabun County designated by Rabun County and the State of Georgia as Georgia
