CUMMING - A Forsyth County teenager is dead after a two-vehicle crash Friday night on Bannister Road near the Forsyth-Dawson County line.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Robin Regan identified the victim as 18-year-old Taylor Oliver.

He said Oliver was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 eastbound on Bannister Road when he went off the right side of the roadway near Concord Road. Regan said Oliver tried to get back on the road and over-corrected, sliding sideways into the westbound lane.

"A Ford F-350 that was towing a trailer was in the other lane and struck the F-150," said Regan.

Both vehicles traveled down an embankment, according to Regan.

He said Oliver, a student at Mountain Education Charter High School, was pronounced dead on the scene as a result of head injuries he sustained in the crash. The occupants of the other truck were not injured.

Regan said the investigation is ongoing, but neither drugs nor alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.

The fatal accident occurred just before 7:15 p.m., according to Regan.
