Soccer: Branch girls open season with shutout of Jackson Co.

JEFFERSON -- Mara Wheat had a hat trick and one assist to lead the Flowery Branch girls to a 9-0 victory over Jackson County Thursday night in both teams' season opener.<br /> <br /> Halie Windish, Madeline McCarthy, Morgan Wadsworth, Rachel Cohn, Laura Zwald, and Aneesa Jones all had one goal each for the Lady Falcons (1-0). Jones also added an assist for Flowery Branch. <br /> <br /> The Lady Falcons next will travel to Buford on Tuesday.
