Wrestling: Area 4-AAAA has strong showing at Sectionals

BUFORD -- Area 4-AAAA had a strong showing at the Class AAAA East Sectionals at Buford High School Saturday.<br /> <br /> Area 4-AAAA had six Sectional champions and six runners-up among six schools represented. The top eight in each weight-class advanced to the state tournament.<br /> <br /> For host Buford, Darius Bunch (126), Jack Barber (132), and Trent Ferguson (138) each took Sectional titles. Jack Ness (182) finished second, Grant Simonds (195) placed third and Joe Salas (152) placed fifth.<br /> <br /> For North Hall, Michael Carew (145) took a Sectional title with Nick Whitmire (160) and Isaiah Hale (170) each placed second.<br /> <br /> Michael Rietrib (113), Holden Barnes (126), Darien Ingram (195), and Randy Galvan (220) all advanced for the Trojans.<br /> <br /> Stephens County had two Sectionals champs in Devin Burns (182) and Gary Walker (285). Jake Murray (132) and Blake Peeples (160) also advanced.<br /> <br /> White County's Andrew Posten (220) finished second with Austin Durham (106), Cory Garrison (120), Cody Bearden (145), Sean Freeman (195), and Ty Anderson (285) all placed for the Warriors.<br /> <br /> For Chestatee, Marvin Cunningham (138) and Matthew McLellan (145) each placed second.<br /> <br /> Gavin Cunningham (106), Jairo Cuevas (126), Austin Donaldson (132), Garrett Brader (152), Isaac Alarcon (170), and Jaime Arroyo (182) all advanced to the state tournament for the War Eagles.<br /> <br /> For Johnson, Gabriel Laguna (113), David Castaneda (138), Fredis Velasquez (160), Jerry Ochoa (170), Jake Holman (220) and Pedro Estrada (285) advanced to the state tournament.
