Wrestling: Area standouts take another step toward crown in state sectionals

Beginning this afternoon, the best wrestlers in northeast Georgia will look to show they belong amongst the best in the state.<br /> <br /> Sectional tournaments will get underway at venues near and far, and only the top competitors will advance to next weekend's GHSA championship finale.<br /> <br /> The top four finishers in Classes A-AA will advance to the championship rounds Feb. 12-14, while the top eight grapplers in Classes AAA-AAAAAA will move on in their classifications.<br /> <br /> Amongst this weekend's competitors are eight 2014 individual champions, while team champs Jefferson, Buford and Commerce once again bring enough quality to the brackets to aim for more titles.<br /> <br /> The Dragons are gunning for their 15th straight traditional crown -- their first in Class AAA -- and they will look to push as many competitors through as possible in their East sectional in Morgan County.<br /> <br /> Meanwhile, northeast Georgia's Class A qualified wrestlers will compete in the West sectional at George Walton Academy. In Class AA, the East sectionals will comprise local grapplers battling it out at Greater Atlanta Christian, while Buford will play host to the Class AAAA East sectional. Class AAAAA wrestlers won't have to travel far, competing at Lanier High in Sugar Hill, while Class the AAAAAA East sectional will commence at Mill Creek.<br /> <br /> Look below for a full list of
