Collins honored as Gainesville Parks & Rec 'Volunteer Coach of the Year'

GAINESVILLE - David Collins was recently honored by Gainesville Parks and Recreation as the Volunteer Coach of the Year. The award was presented at the annual Coaches Banquet.<br /> <br /> &#8203;Collins, a volunteer coach since 2004, has coached both Little League Baseball and Youth Softball and was chosen from among 244 volunteer youth athletic coaches. <br /> <br /> Beth Morris, Gainesville Parks and Recreation Program Manager said, "David is a good role model for these players and treats everyone on the team equally. He is a real favorite among the parents and players."
