Girls basketball: North Forsyth holds off Johns Creek

JOHNS CREEK -- Caroline Bowns poured in 28 points to go with four rebounds, two assists, and four steals to lead North Forsyth to a 52-45 win over Johns Creek in Region 6-AAAAAA action Tuesday.<br />

The Lady Raiders (21-3, 15-2 Region 6-AAAAAA) led just 15-13 after the first quarter but outscored the Lady Gladiators (11-13, 6-11) 27-17 in the second and third quarters to pull away.<br />
<br />
Johns Creek outscored North Forsyth 15-10 in the fourth quarter but could get no closer than the final score.<br />
<br />
The two teams combined to shoot 73 free throws in the game but neither team could take advantage. North Forsyth was just 17-of-39 on free throws while Johns Creek hit just 17-of-34 at the line.<br />
<br />
North Forsyth will play host to No. 1 South Forsyth on Friday in both teams's regular season finale. The winner will win the Region 6-AAAAAA title.<br />
