Boys basketball: Big first quarter propels Leopards past Lumpkin

HOMER -- Banks County ran its win streak to three after a 90-68 Region 7-AAA win over Lumpkin County Tuesday night at home.<br /> <br /> The Leopards (20-4, 9-2 Region 7-AAA) opened the game with a 27-8 first quarter and then cruised to the victory.<br /> <br /> Austin venable paced Banks County with 18 points. Zez Steeple and Tracie Bagley each had 13 points for the Leopards.<br /> <br /> Lumpkin County (8-17, 5-7) was led by Jack Howard with 20 points. Brandon Zarate added 15 points and Zach Pulley 10 points for the Indians.<br /> <br /> It was the season finale for Lumpkin County. Banks County will play host to Fannin County on Friday.
