GAINESVILLE - Hall County has begun accepting bids on the replacement of a tennis court at Village of Deaton Creek near Chestnut Mountain.

Deaton Creek residents have complained, formally and informally, over the past several months about the condition of the court, placing blame on the county for damage to it.

The county commission voted Jan. 22 to seek bids on the project. The motion called for "up to $20,000" to repair the court, which has a county water line underneath it, but estimates say the repairs could run as high as $55,000.
