Police are investigating the apparent armed robbery of the AutoZone store at 1911 Jesse Jewell Parkway in Gainesville.

Gainesville Police Sgt. Kevin Holbrook said the hold-up happened as employees were closing the store for the night.

"Around 9 o'clock, two male subjects dressed in all black approached one of the employees as they were locking up the store for the evening," said Holbrook. "It's believed that they brandished some type of weapon."

Holbrook said the suspects took the employees to a back room of the store and locked them in the room while they took cash from the store.

Holbrook did not say how many employees were in the store at the time of the robbery; he said no one was hurt in the incident.

At this point, Holbrook said investigators don't have detailed descriptions of the suspects. He said investigators are working on that part of the case, so that they can release information to the public and hopefully gets some tips on the hold-up men.
