GAINESVILLE - Beginning in January, the J. A. Walters Family YMCA will offer new Medical Wellness Services to YMCA members and non-members alike.

The services will include medical assessments for injury evaluation and nutritional counseling, massage therapy with various techniques such as therapeutic Swedish massage, deep tissue, aromatherapy, acupressure, stretch and chair massages, physical therapy to assist in injury recovery, and post-rehab services to help transition after completing a physical therapy regimen.

“Physical Therapy and Massage Therapy, in additional to individualized personal training, are wellness offerings that increase our ability to promote holistic health, well-being and fitness. YMCA Members don't have to leave the YMCA to get care after an injury, and non-members can reap the benefits, too. Have muscle tightness after a hard workout? See our licensed massage therapist to relieve tension and pain. Motion, balance, injury, and postural assessments/screenings can help you to be proactive about your physical health. It's just so convenient!,” said Angie Beccue, Wellness Director at the J. A. Walters Family YMCA branch of the Georgia Mountains YMCA association.

Medical assessments are available free to YMCA members, and are available to non-members for a nominal fee. All other medical wellness services are avaiable to YMCA members at a discounted price.

For more information, please contact Angie Beccue at the J. A. Walters Family YMCA at 770- 297-9622 or visit www.gamountainsymca.org .
