ATLANTA — Bob Willis, CEO and Chief Investment Officer of Willis Investment Counsel in Gainesville, recently joined the state Council of Economic Advisors at a State Capitol meeting to brief Georgia’s governor, House and Senate leadership on economic trends.
The council meets annually to discuss the economy and its potential impact on state revenues. The input assists state leaders in formulating Georgia’s fiscal year budget.
In addition to Willis, the Council of Economic Advisors includes some of the state’s most noted economists and professors: Roger Tutterow of Kennesaw State University; Rajeev Dhawan of Georgia State University; Donald Ratajczak of Raymond James & Associates; Jeffrey Humphreys of the University of Georgia; Coca-Cola executive Jonathan “Rocky” Rief; and Gregory Miller, SunTrust Bank’s chief economist.
Willis, who has served on the council for three years, was appointed by Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal.
