HCFS celebrates 45th anniversary

GAINESVILLE - Hall County Fire Services celebrated its 45th anniversary Friday afternoon at the Hall County Emergency Services Complex on Crescent Drive.
 
The Hall County Fire Department, as it was known then, was established on December 14, 1970, and answered its first call for service on January 15, 1971. Hall County Fire Services has evolved into the seventh largest fire department in Georgia, with 371 personnel and 16 stations that averages 21,500 incident responses per year.
 
There have been five chiefs for Hall County Fire Services:
 
Larry Williams 1971 to 1980
Dick Taylor 1980 to 1983
Mike Satterfield 1983 to 2004
David Kimbrell 2004 to 2014
Jeff Hood 2014 to present
