With all of the league's fall sports completed, the University of North Georgia holds the lead in the Commissioner's Cup standings, announced on Thursday morning by the league office. The Nighthawks earned a 25 of a possible 34 points available to them and hold a .735 rating, .032 ahead of second-place Armstrong State. Columbus State is third with Flagler fourth and Lander in fifth.

North Georgia had a very successful start to the 2015-16 season with runner-up finishes in both women's soccer and women's cross country. Both sports are sponsored by 12 PBC institutions, the most sponsorship of any fall sport, giving UNG 11 points for both placements.

Likewise, Armstrong tied for second in volleyball and were third in women's soccer giving the Pirates 22.5 out of a possible 32 points. Columbus State won the women's soccer regular-season championship and had good finishes in both men's and women's cross country.

Last season, UNG finished third in the PBC Commissioner's Cup standings, marking the highest in school history for the 12-sport Nighthawk athletic department since becoming full-fledged members in the 2005-06 season.

PBC Commissioner's Cup ratings are determined by taking the maximum number of points available to each school, depending on how many sports each has, and dividing by the number of points won, based on conference finish through the regular season (except golf and cross country which are based on championship results). The Commissioner's Cup will be presented to the best overall athletic program at the league's annual meetings in late May.
