Corky Kell to expand in 2016; Buford added

There will be a new and improved Corky Kell Classic beginning in 2016.

The annual event released its 2016 schedule and will feature several northeast Georgia teams and will also expand to a third day. The 25th Kell Classic will now feature two games in Macon featuring middle Georgia teams.

Annual Kell Classic participants North Gwinnett and Mill Creek will once again take part. Buford, who will be playing in its ninth-straight finals on Saturday, was added for the 2016 event.

Next year's Kell Classic will expand to Thursday with a pair of games at Mercer’s Five Star Stadium in Macon.

On Friday, the action will move to McEachern’s Cantrell Stadium and then move to its traditional Georgia Dome site on Saturday.

All nine games over the three days will be televised on Fox Sports Southeast.

Here is the 2016 schedule:

Thursday, Aug. 18, Mercer University, Macon

5:45 p.m.: Houston County vs. Mary Persons

8:45 p.m.: Lee County vs. Jones County

Friday, Aug. 19, McEachern High School, Powder Springs

5:45 p.m.: Buford vs. Roswell

8: 45 p.m.: South Forsyth vs. Hillgrove

Saturday, Aug. 20, Georgia Dome, Atlanta

9 a.m.: Kell vs. Tucker

11:45 p.m.: North Gwinnett vs. Brookwood

2:45 p.m.: Walton vs. Norcross

5:45 p.m.: Colquitt County vs. Mill Creek

8:45 p.m.: McEachern vs. Archer
