WINDER -  Barrow County Emergency Services put into service six new Stryker Power-Pro ambulance cots last Friday. These cots replaced the entire fleet of manual cots that had reached the end of their serviceable life.

The new cots feature a power lift allowing the patient to be lifted or lowered with the push of a button. This will greatly reduce the strain on employees backs while moving patients. With the new power lift feature both attendants assigned to an ambulance can share the load of the stretcher while loading and unloading patients. With manual cots, only one attendant could lift the cot while the other operated the legs.

The Emergency Services Department would like to thank the Barrow County Board of Commissioners for approving the purchase of these new cots.
