State Patrol announces new Commander of GSP Troop B

GAINESVILLE - A new Troop Commander has been appointed for Troop B of the Georgia State Patrol, which includes Post 6 in Gainesville.
 
Captain Allen Marlowe was appointed Troop Commander for Georgia State Patrol Troop B on December 1.

Captain Marlowe previously served as the troop commander for Post E, which includes posts in Atlanta, east of Interstate 20 and to the South Carolina line.

Along with Post 6, which covers Banks, Hall and White Counties, Marlowe will oversee Post 7 in Toccoa, Post 27 in Blue Ridge, Post 32 in Athens, Post 37 in Cumming and Post 52 in Hartwell.
 
Captain Marlowe attended the University of Georgia and graduated from the 67th Georgia State Patrol Trooper School in July 1993. He has previously served GSP Conyers, Gainesville, Athens, Washington and Cumming as a supervisor, and as Lieutenant and Assistant Troop Commander for Troop B in 2008.
 
He was assigned to Headquarters in 2011 where he served as the Assistant to the Commanding Officer and attained the rank of Captain. He transferred to Madison to serve as the Troop E Commander in 2013.

During his career, Captain Marlowe has participated in numerous special details including the 1996 Olympics, Atlanta Dragway events, the University of Georgia Football Detail, Tour de Georgia, and the G8 Summit. Captain Marlowe attended the 255th session of the FBI National Academy in Quantico VA.

Marlowe, his wife Tammy and three children, Hannah, Katlin and Kasey live in Oconee County.
