DAHLONEGA — T.J. Williams and Sean Brennan combined for 34 points, but it was not enough as the University of North Georgia men's basketball dropped an 82-76 non-conference game with Brevard on Wednesday evening in UNG's Memorial Hall.
North Georgia slides to 2-6 overall while Brevard picks up its first win of the year to move to 1-5.
NOTES
- With the score tied at 72 with just 1:40 remaining, Brevard would take control of the game with six consecutive points.
- North Georgia led by seven, 67-60, with 5:23 remaining in the game, but the Tornados put together a 10-2 run to pull back head with 2:48 to go.
- Brevard's Demarcus Threatt led all scorers with a game-high 21 points on 8-of-14 from the floor. Alex Moe added 17 while Miles Leathers pitched in with a double-double of 13 points and 11 rebounds.
- The Tornados held a 43-36 edge on the glass.
- All of Brennan's 15 points came from behind the 3-point line, as the junior connected on 3-of-5 from long range.
- Tanner Plemmons added a season-high 12 points on 4-of-9 from behind the 3-point line.
- North Georgia turned the ball over a season-low 10 times.
- Tyler Dominy and Michael Varrichone shared team-high honors in rebounds with six apiece.
NEXT UP
The Nighthawks will return to the court with the team's final non-conference game on Dec. 14 against Limestone at 7:30 in Memorial Hall.
