HOMER - Hall County and Banks County authorities are actively searching for a suspect they said is armed and dangerous.
Banks County Sheriff's Sgt. Carissa McFaddin said at 9 p.m. officers are saturating the area of McCoy Bridge Road north of Homer searching for Matthew Theodore Samples.
The search zone as of 5:45 p.m. was in the area of Highway 441 area near Thompson Street.
"Our agency, along with the Hall County Sheriff's Office, are actively searching for Matthew Theodore Samples in the area of Highway 441 near Thompson Street," said McFaddin. "He is considered armed and dangerous."
McFaddin said Samples has an active warrant out of Banks County for kidnapping and aggravated assault. She said he also has a warrant out of Hall County.
McFaddin described Samples as 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds and says anyone who sees him should call 9-1-1 immediately.
