FORT WALTON BEACH, FLORIDA — The West Hall girls basketball team opened its season with a solid 63-48 win over Carver-Birmingham Monday in the first round of the Emerald Coast Classic Thanksgiving Tournament at Choctaw High School.
The Lady Spartans (1-0) got a huge game from Anna McKendree with 24 points. Macy Passmore added 13 points and Meaghan Kelling had nine for the West Hall.
Carver was led by Kaneisha Rivers with 18 points. Jada Swinnie had nine points for the Lady Rams.
West Hall next will play the winner of the Choctaw-West Florida in the second round at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
