GAINESVILLE - City officials say early voting for the Dec. 1 Gainesville City Council runoff has been "extremely low" and note that there are just a few more days to cast an early ballot.

Early voting continues for the Ward 3 post through Wednesday, Nov. 25.  Candidates Barbara Brooks and Andre Cheek are running to take the place of longtime councilwoman Myrtle W. Figueras, who chose not to run for re-election.

Early voting is available to all registered voters (registered as of October 5, 2015) at the Hall County Elections Office in the Hall County Government Services Center on Browns Bridge Road.  (The office will be closed Thursday and Friday for Thanksgiving.)  The hours are 8:00-5:00.

Contact the Hall County Elections Office at 770-531-6945 to request an absentee ballot. The last day an absentee ballot can be mailed is Wednesday, November 25.

On December 1, voters should report to their Hall County voting precinct to cast a ballot. Precincts will be open from 7:00-7:00 on Election Day.
