LULA - The source of a residential fire that severely damaged a Lula-area home Monday evening is under investigation by Hall County fire officials.
Crews were called to the home on Latty Road around 6 p.m., according to Capt. Zachary Brackett with Hall County Fire Services. Latty Road is just off of Old Cornelia Highway in the north-east part of the county.
Brackett said first responders arriving at the scene initially discovered a multi-story home that was showing heavy signs of fire. He added that crews were able to take an offensive approach in battling the fire. They were able to extinguish the fire within two hours of their arrival.
No word was given regarding the occupancy status of the home, although Brackett noted that no injuries were reported at the scene.
An investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause of the fire. That information is expected to be released at a later date.
