JEFFERSON — Jefferson showed that it is no ordinary two seed on Friday.

The Dragons hammered Pepperell 49-0 in the first round of the Class AAA playoffs in Jefferson, holding the visitors to just 146 yards -- 66 of that on one play in the second half.

The victory moved Jefferson (10-1) into the second round of the state playoffs, where it will travel to face Blessed Trinity -- the team that knocked the Dragons from the playoffs last season.

Jefferson tuned up for the rematch in style, led by Zack Boobas. The junior rushed for 187 yards and two touchdowns while also recording 12 tackles.

Colby Wood also rushed for two scores and picked off a pass and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown in the win.

The Dragons finished the game with 353 total yards -- 205 of that in the first half, as Jefferson built a 21-0 advantage.
