TYRONE — Sandy Creek held North Hall to just 68 total yards of offense while piling up 457 yards of offense of its own in a 49-0 victory over the Trojans Friday night in the first round of the Class AAAA state playoffs.
The Patriots (9-2) came in ranked fourth in Class AAAA in defense allowing just 9.7 points a game and a safety early in the second quarter helped ignite a 22-point period to blow the game open.
Sandy Creek led 13-0 after the first quarter but got the safety and then three long touchdown runs extended the Patriots' lead to 35-0 by halftime.
North Hall (6-5) managed just three first downs and just 21 rushing yards as Sandy Creek was able to clamp down on the Trojans vaunted wing-T attack. The Trojans were making their first playoff appearance since 2013 but also have now lost five straight road playoff games.
