HOSCHTON — It wasn't the prettiest offensive performance, but it didn't much matter for Mill Creek football on Friday.
Not when the Hawks have a defense like this.
Mill Creek scored two defensive touchdowns and allowed just one offensive touchdown as it stormed past Mill Creek 46-13 on Friday in the first round of the Class AAAAAA playoffs in Hoschton.
The Hawks (11-0) led just 7-6 early in the second quarter but got hold of the contest before the half thanks to a interception return for a score from Kishawn Miller, his score making it 17-6.
Mill Creek led 20-6 at the interval and then pulled away for good in the third quarter, as Edmund Graham scored on a kickoff return, Sidney Otiwu picked off a pass for a score and Daniel Leconte added a 1-yard touchdown run for a 40-6 lead, as the Hawks moved toward a second round match-up with Newnan.
Leconte finished with 42 yards rushing, while quarterback Cameron Turley completed 12 of 22 passes for 143 yards and two scores. Miles Riley caught six passes for 54 yards, while Braxton Richburg had four receptions for 77 yards and a score.
The Hawks will play host to Newnan next week in Hoschton.
