All around North Georgia, colleges, communities, and others have begun celebrating Veterans Day, prior to the holiday on Wednesday.

At Brenau University, the early ceremony took place late Tuesday morning in front of Owens Student Center on the historic Gainesville Campus. School employees placed 220 pinwheels in front of the flag pole for each of Brenau's student veterans. Wednesday, Brenau is offering free lunches to their student-veterans at the Gainesville campus, and gift cards mailed to student veterans at other regional campuses.

South Habersham Middle School celebrated Veterans Day with a student organized ceremony, and brought in 75 veterans and numerous community guests. Some of the veterans went to speak to classes and answer questions about military service.
