BUFORD — Six different players scored and the defense held a potent Stephens County offense to just 105 total yards in a 42-0 win over the Indians Friday night at Tom Riden Stadium.
The victory gave the Wolves (9-1, 7-0 Region 8-AAAA) their second straight region title. Stephens County (8-2, 6-1) finished second and will also get to pl;ay host to a first round playoff game.
Buford led just 7-0 after a 30-yard touchdown pass from Mic Roof to TD Roof late in the first quarter. The Wolves blew it open with a 21-point second quarter.
Christian Turner scored on a 3-yard run, Anthony Grant caught a 20-yard touchdown pass from Mic Roof, and Mic Roof scored on a 22-yard run to close out the first half with a 28-0 lead.
Martin Mangram scored on a 17-yard run late in the third quarter and the Wolves added another touchdown run midway through the fourth quarter to finish the scoring.
Grant finished with 118 yards rushing to pace Buford, which had 268 yards rushing on the game.
The Wolves will play host to Fayette County next in the first round of the Class AAAA playoffs. Stephens County will play host to Carrollton in the first round.
