GAINESVILLE - A lane realignment that has been in place along a stretch of Browns Bridge Road west of Gainesville is scheduled to end Tuesday, weather permitting.

The earlier lane shift, which occurred five months ago, was made to accommodate construction of a tunnel under the road by the developers of the Cresswind subdivision.  The section of road is just west of Montgomery Drive.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is supervising the work because it affects Browns Bridge Road, which is a state route.   The tunnel will connect two sections of Cresswind Parkway.

Tuesday's lane shift will move traffic back to the original location of Browns Bridge Road.
