ATLANTA - A Buford man has been named to the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Board of Directors. In addition, a woman from Barrow County is getting a seat on the newly-authorized state Department of Family and Chidren's Services (DFCS) Advisory Board.
Phil Sutton is the chief administrative officer for Kubota Manufacturing and Kubota Industrial Equipment. He and his wife, Sue, have two children and one grandchild. The TCSG board oversees the operation of the state's technical colleges.
Cindy England is a business manager for Georgia 4-H at the University of Georgia. She and her husband, Terry, live in Auburn. The bill authorizing the DFCS Advisory Board was signed into law earlier this year by Gov. Nathan Deal. It was authored by Sen. Butch Miller of Gainesville. The board will be comprised of 20 governor-appointed members. The bill also clarifies the appointment and role of county boards of local departments of family and children services.
