GAINESVILLE — North Hall's march toward the playoffs took another big step forward on Friday.
The Trojans took out cross-county foe Chestatee 42-22 in Gainesville to inch ever closer to a postseason return.
North Hall (5-4, 4-2 Region 8-AAAA) jumped out to a 35-0 hafltime advantage before the War Eagles (0-9, 0-6) clawed back 22 second half points.
The Trojans did not quite lock up a playoff berth, but only need to avoid a 12-point-plus loss when they they take on White County next week to get back to the postseason after a one-season absence.
North Hall's wing-T offense will like its chances to continue its stellar play after rolling up 222 yards rushing -- led by 71 yards on eight carries by Colby Miller. Jack Brown also had 63 yards on four carries, as nine different North Hall players finished with positive yardage, including two rushing touchdowns for Sam Jackson. North Hall also completed 8 of 12 passes for 177 yards.
Chestatee put up 227 yards rushing, led by 92 yards from Nick Lyles.
The War Eagles will play host to Monroe Area next week to finish the season.
