DEMOREST — ln the final USA South regular season match of the season, the Lady Lions went out with a bang sweeping Maryville College on the road 3-0 for their first victory over the Scots since 2010. Piedmont has won just twice over the Scots in its history with the last win coming in the GSAC tournament semifinals.
The Lady Lions took the first set 25-23 before taking control of the match in the second set 25-17. The final set was again a close call but the Lady Lions won 25-23 to seal the upset, in what Head Coach Sid Feldman termed "the upset of the last eight years" marking the timespan these two teams have been in the same league (GSAC & USA South).
TAYLOR CRAMSEY ended the conference schedule with a .241 attack percentage and 11 kills while also adding 9 digs. AMANDA TROTTER had an impressive attack percentage as well leading the team with a .286 with 7 kills.
EMILY PETERS had 27 assists along with 9 digs, nearly notching another double-double for the freshman while HALEY HIXON led the team with 14 digs.
The Lady Lions finished the USA South regular season at 9-7 in league play with a 4-4 record against USA South South Division opponents.

-The Lady Lions went on a 9-3 run to finish the second set and take control of the match.

-This marked the second victory for the Lady Lions in their history over the Scots with the first coming in 2010.
