BRASELTON – S.M. Lee of Buford was named first-team Rolex Junior All-Americans by the American Junior Golf Association, establishing Lee among the top tier of current and former junior golfers from around the world.
Ranked No. 9 in the Polo Golf Rankings, Lee is a first-time Rolex Junior All-American. During the 2015 season, the 17-year-old recorded a victory at the Wells Fargo Junior Classic presented by Mizuno and a tied for sixth finish at the FJ Invitational. The senior also recorded a top national junior golf finish when he took second at the Bobby Chapman Junior Invitational and competed at the Wyndham Cup.
Introduced by the AJGA in 1978, the Rolex Junior All-America Teams annually recognize players who have proven to be the world’s premier junior golfers. This year’s teams are comprised of 96 junior golfers, ages 13-19, from 21 states, China, Thailand and Japan. These young men and women distinguished themselves through their outstanding play in 127 national events, 112 of which were conducted by the AJGA. The Rolex Junior All-America Teams were determined exclusively through the Polo Golf Rankings as of Oct. 13.
