Hall Solicitor General named to state panel

GAINESVILLE - Hall County State Court Solicitor General Stephanie Woodard has been named to the Georgia Criminal Justice Reform Council.

The appointment was made by Gov. Nathan Deal.

Woodard is the vice chair and lecturer for the Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council. She also serves on the Georgia Commission on Family Violence and the state board of directors for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Georgia.

Woodard previously was president of the Solicitors-General Association, president of the Northeastern Judicial Bar Association and chair of the Hall County Domestic Violence Task Force. 

According to its Website, the Criminal Justice Reform Council conducts periodic comprehensive reviews of criminal laws, criminal procedure, sentencing laws, adult correctional issues, juvenile justice issues, and enhancement of probation and parole supervision.   Also better management of the prison population and of the population in the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice, and other issues relates to criminal proceedings and accountability courts.  

It was created by the state Legislature two years ago.
