DANIELSVILLE — North Hall football bounced back in a big way on Friday night.
One week after suffering a lopsided loss to Buford, the Trojans hammered Madison County 56-28 to get right back into the playoff hunt in Region 8-AAAA.
North Hall (3-4, 2-2 Region 8-AAAA) raced to a 21-7 first quarter lead and then scored three straight touchdowns in the fourth quarter to ensure the victory in Danielsville -- an outcome that, combined with others on the night, vaulted the Trojans into fourth place in the region standings.
The ground attack kicked into high gear for North Hall, as it rushed for 586 yards on the night -- 237 of that for Kyle Bacus on 20 carries. Bacus also scored four touchdowns. Sam Jackson also had 148 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries, while Colby Miller added 132 yards and two scores on 14 carries. Jackson Madonna also had a rushing touchdown, as the Trojans averaged 10.1 yards per carry.
Madison County fought its way back into the contest with two touchdowns in the second quarter to pull within 28-20 at the half. But Jackson ripped off a 33-yard touchdown run in the third quarter for a 35-20 lead, setting up the fourth quarter spree that killed off the contest.
Miller scored on runs of 1 and 54 yards, while Bacus added a 71-yard run to pull away for good.
North Hall travels to Monroe Area next week.
