Dr. Suzanne Erickson, dean of Brenau’s College of Business & Mass Communication, is one of 11 recipients of the 2015 Oxford Center for Entrepreneurs Fast Growth Award.
While Erickson couldn’t make it to business accelerator’s official gala in Havana, Cuba, the award was delivered to her over the weekend.
The Oxford Center for Entrepreneurs was founded in 2008 at Emory University. The first-ever accredited Oxford Entrepreneur MBA program, however, began at Brenau University.
Erickson received the honor for her part in leading the university’s MBA program, which connects postgraduate students to “second stage” entrepreneurs in the Atlanta area through apprenticeships, mentoring and other hands-on experiences.
While Erickson is honored by the recognition, she said she wants the award to put an even brighter spotlight on Brenau’s one-of-a-kind partnership with the Oxford Center.
“I hope to see it explode in growth, because it is a truly unique opportunity for students,” she said. “I don’t think there is anything else like it in the United States.”
