HOSCHTON -- The Mill Creek defense just keeps one-upping itself.
The Hawks pitched their third consecutive shutout and held Meadowcreek to minus-24 yards of offense in 52-0 shellacking at Mill Creek Community Friday night in Region 7-AAAAAA.
The Hawks got two defensive scores in the first quarter, a 22-yard interception return from Kishawn Miller to open the scoring just moments into the game, and a 6-yard fumble return by Sidney Otiwu. In between, Mill Creek (6-0, 3-0 Region 7-AAAAAA) got a 4-yard touchdown run from Daniel LeConte and a 22-yard touchdown pass from Cameron Turley to Preston Norwood. Joe Thomas capped the first quarter with a 3-yard scoring run for a 35-0 lead.
In the second quarter, Brenton King added a 22-yard field goal and Thomas scored his second touchdown, a 34-yard romp, for a 45-0 lead. Tyson Morgan closed out the scoring with a 67-yard touchdown run for the final score.
Morgan paced the Hawks with 75 yards rushing on six carries. Thomas finished with 66 yards rushing on six carries and LeConte had 41 yards on eight carries in limited action.
Mill Creek travels to Mountain View next in another 7-AAAAAA battle.
