Girls basketball: No. 1 Dawson Co. routs Franklin in 7-AAA

DAWSONVILLE -- Sheyenne Seabolt poured in 29 points to lead Class AAA No. 1 Dawson County to a 72-45 Region 7-AAA win over Franklin County Tuesday night.<br /> <br /> The Lady Tigers (22-0, 9-0 Region 7-AAA) opened the game with a 24-9 first quarter and increased their lead to 37-17 by halftime.<br /> <br /> Franklin County (14-8, 6-4) cut the lead to 12 early in the third quarter but Dawson County exploded to build a 30 point in the fourth quarter.<br /> <br /> Peytan Porter and Haley Burgess each scored eight points for Dawson County. Karlie Bearden had seven points and 10 rebounds. Katelynn Simpson added six points and 12 rebounds.<br /> <br /> The Lady Tigers next will travel to arch-rival Lumpkin County on Friday in another Region 7-AAA battle.
