Boys basketball: Lumpkin Co. snaps 7-AAA losing streak

CARNESVILLE -- Lumpkin County snapped a four-game Region 7-AAA losing streak with a 66-55 win over Franklin County on the road Friday night.<br /> <br /> The Indians (6-13, 3-4 Region 7-AAA) opened the game with a 20-9 first quarter and then held off the Lions (10-9, 3-4).<br /> <br /> Franklin County cut the lead to 31-26 by halftime and trailed just 48-44 heading into the fourth quarter. But Lumpkin County put the game away with an 18-11 fourth quarter.<br /> <br /> Jack Howard led Lumpkin County with 26 points. Brandon Zarate had 14 points and <br /> Zach Pulley and Matt Satterfield had 10 points each for the Indians.<br /> <br /> Lumpkin County next will play host to White County on Saturday. Franklin County will travel to West Hall on Tuesday.<br /> <br />
