AUGUSTA -- The North Georgia men's basketball team overcame a 12-point deficit in the second half to take down Georgia Regents Augusta (10-4, 2-3 Peach Belt), 87-83, Wednesday evening at Christenberry Fieldhouse. The win advances the Nighthawks to 11-1 on the season and 5-0 in PBC play.

The 11-1 start ties for the best in school history, a feat only seen in the 1971-72 season.

"We challenged our guys a lot at halftime," head coach Chris Faulkner said. Hats off to our kids."

Shaquan Cantrell, a Gainesville High graduate, led UNG in scoring on the night with 22 points, while Corey Green had a team-high nine rebounds.

UNG trailed by as many as 12 points (62-50), in the second half and would lead by as much as eight in the final minute.

The Nighthawks continue the four-game long road swing on Saturday, traveling to Morrow to take on Clayton State. Tipoff for the men's game is set for 3:30 p.m.
