HIAWASSEE - Baldwin Police Chief Chad Nichols has announced the arrest of two people in connection with the Dec. 14 burglary at Fieldale Family Health Center.

Nichols said his officers obtained warrants for 22-year-old Elliott Mattox and 20-year-old Chelsie Hill, both of Sylva, N.C., after the initial investigation.

Baldwin Police Department requested and received help from the North Georgia Regional Drug Enforcement Office, which helped with the ongoing investigation and with locating the suspects.

On Jan. 2, NGRDEO agents located and arrested Mattox and Hill in Hiawassee. They two are charged with burglary.

A search warrant of the home where the two had been staying in Hiawassee was conducted by RDEO agents, Baldwin police and Towns County Sheriff's Office.

That search yielded items related to the Fieldale pharmacy burglary, Nichols said.

Mattox and Hill remain in the Towns County Detention Center, awaiting transport to Habersham County, Nichols said Saturday afternoon.

Nichols thanked all agencies from Georgia and North Carolina that assisted Baldwin police in their investigation.
