Driver in fatal Samples Rd. crash driving more than 100 mph

CUMMING - The man killed in a crash on Samples Road in Forsyth County Thursday morning was driving more than 100 miles-per-hour, according to authorities.<br />

Forsyth County Sheriff's Sgt. Josh Watson said the accident involved one vehicle, which left the roadway and hit a tree near Samples Lane. The driver, 27-year-old Forrest Bushong of Cumming was pronounced dead at the scene. <br />
<br />
"We are not 100-percent sure, however, drugs and alcohol are suspected," said Watson. "There will be no autopsy, since there are no charges that are going to be filed."<br />
<br />
Watson said the fatal crash occurred around 5:30 a.m. on New Year's Day.<br />
<br />
Samples Road was closed for more than six hours while the investigation was completed.<br />
