Madison Co. school officials consider options for Bible verse monument

DANIELSVILLE (AP) -- Officials at a public high school in northeast Georgia are considering whether to remove or modify a monument that quotes the Bible.<br /> <br /> Verses on the monument at Madison County High School state, "If God is for us then who can be against us?" and "I can do all things through Christ."<br /> <br /> WSB-TV reports (http://bit.ly/ZneA9b ) that the monument on the edge of Red Raider Field was donated with private money and intended to inspire the football team.<br /> <br /> The superintendent of Madison County schools said in a statement to WSB that all options are being considered, including removing the monument or modifying it in some way.<br /> <br /> Last week, the atheist group out of Washington, D.C. that filed a complaint against the Hall County School System over football team prayers at Chestatee High School sent a letter to Madison County school officials, requesting that the monument be removed from school property or at least that the engravings be changed.<br /> <br /> (The AccessNorthGa.com news staff contributed to this story.)
