Flowery Branch gets back on winning track at Cedar Shoals

ATHENS -- Flowery Branch got back to its winning ways on Friday, shooting down Cedar Shoals 17-7 on Friday in Athens.<br /> <br /> The Falcons (2-2, 1-2 Region 8-AAAAA) stifled the Leopards offense, holding Cedar Shoals to just 69 yards for the contest.<br /> <br /> Meanwhile, Flowery Branch put up 282 yards, including 139 yards rushing for Jeremiah Goss.<br /> <br /> Jasen Johnson also rushed for 49 yards and completed 5 of 15 passes for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns -- one each to Hayden Colee and Zack Smith.<br /> <br /> The Falcons fell behind 7-3 in the second quarter but fought back to take a 10-7 advantage with 1:39 left in the first half -- Johnson connecting with Smith for a 7-yard score.<br /> <br /> Flowery Branch sealed the game with a third quarter touchdown.<br /> <br /> Cedar Shoals managed just five yards passing.<br /> <br /> The Falcons will play host to Winder-Barrow next week.
